QOF data sources
A chance to get straight to the horse's mouth as it were. The data on this site has inevitably gone through some proccessing to get it here. In addition it has been standardised as each of the four countries has its own way of presenting the data.
- English data - the NHS information centre in England also publish their own website of the points data.
- Scotland - the data is published by ISD Scotland
- Wales data on line from the NHS in Wales
- Northern Ireland
People to help with QOF problems
Is your data a disaster? Are you completely lost in all of the indicators? Are you drowning in Read codes? Help can be at hand, at a price.
- Email me! - I am a full time GP but if you want part of the data or a quick question drop me a line. Also available to talk for an almost unlimited time about QOF within a reasonable drive from Swindon subject to you waving a pile of used fivers at me.
- Oberoi Consulting are proper consultants who do this as a day job! They have also been very supportive towards this site.
- Insight SolutionsIndependent Primary Care training consultancy specialising in QoF and all IT related practice issues.
Free Information
This site would not be possible if information was not available freely. That is why it is free for you to use and download. There is a lot of power in free information. I also believe quite strongly in the right of individuals to control personal information about themselves. Whilst these might seem at first contradictory there are both about putting power in the hands of individuals.
- The Big Opt Out informs people about what will happen to their health information and tell them how to opt out of having it uploaded to the central English database
Campaining against the rather pointless and expensive ID card programme- Free Our Data Make taxpayers' data available to them
Software Used to Make This Site
PHP is used to process the data and in the website itself- MySQL deals with all the data without complaint
- Catdoc and xls2csv is about the most usefull thing in the world when you have a huge pile of spreadsheet to feed into some sort of processing system.
